MANAMA: Bahrain-based ICT expert Dr Jassim Haji has been made chairman of a newly established global association for artificial intelligence (AI).
Believed to be the fastest-growing organisation for the technology, the International Group of Artificial Intelligence has its operational headquarters in Dubai and is registered in the UK.
The association has more than 500 members from over 24 countries, including Argentina, Australia, Bahrain, Belgium, Benin, Brazil, Canada, Croatia, Egypt, France, Germany, India, Italy, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Romania, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Spain, the UAE and the UK.
Dr Haji has described Bahrain being presented the chairmanship as a great achievement.
He added that Bahrain has always been a pioneer in innovations and technology, hence leading AI at an international level is always a target and follows the leadership’s visions and goals.
The objectives of the group are to disseminate AI across the globe and to various levels of communities, universities, organisations and societies through conducting researches, conferences, literatures and exchanges of expertise.
