MANAMA: A Bahraini man was killed in a horrific accident in Yemen yesterday.
The man and his wife were travelling from Bahrain to Yemen in a car.
According to reports on social media, the husband who was driving the car, lost control of the vehicle which hit a barrier and overturned several times on a highway in Al Arqoob, near Shoqra Town.
His wife, who sustained serious injuries, has been taken to a hospital in Aden.
Passers-by rushed to the scene to rescue the couple.
“The man, who appeared to be in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Efforts to revive him ended in vain,” sources said.
“His wife required inmediate medical intervention as she sustained multiple injuries.
“The couple was travelling by car from Bahrain to Yemen, the car had a Bahraini number plate.”
Yemeni authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
