Crunch talks on Zakat bill
I think it’s a good idea for companies to give back to the community.
@sarasoraroxas
By forcing them to?
@dewaynebowen
Not forcing; this law is under study. No one will be forced to do anything. It’s just a suggestion but if implemented it would go through the proper process. Not just simply like that.
@m.h740000
The companies would just increase their margin by five per cent.
@whatisnezardoing
Why not pay zakat from VAT money?
@m7mdparvz
Maybe calling it profit tax would be better to apply on all without discrimination.
@silveraneesa
And how on earth do you impose on companies an Islamic tax which is prescribed for Muslim individuals only?
@omaralmohammed
Exactly. Just because they call it zakat, doesn’t mean that’s what it is. Zakat is on Muslim individuals only.
@nadiyako1
Stroke cases likely to rise in Bahrain
Because fast food, food trucks and no walking culture has played a huge role.
@em.privvv20
Agree.
@lara.m1188
Fast food everywhere; it’s the people’s fault.
@rescue__sheep
Fast food existed earlier too. And it isn’t forced upon anyone. It is a personal choice to take it or not.
@lsiyer
From all the stress and inequality in the workplace.
@yaziflowers
The culture has not changed that dramatically. There is another factor in play here now but nobody will admit it.
@mikefarrell737
Make fast food more expensive. Problem solved.
@m.h740000
MPs call for BD100 monthly fees for expat students attending government schools
That’s too much...
@mohamed_m_suhail
School is mandatory for everyone. If they are expats and going to public school chances are it’s because they can’t afford to pay for private school ... this is a bad idea.
@sarasoraroxas
This is so wrong. Why do people come up with such unfair ideas.
@duasanddhikr
They just want to be in the news. Private institutions are much cheaper.
Syed Khan
For BD100 per month they can go private.
Hussain Husaini
Instead of raising the minimum wage I think they ought to take away all the perks of the job and reduce the salaries of the MPs as per the standard minimum wage, only then real change will happen.
Morbid Serenade
The parents of expat students are rich and can very well afford to pay BD100 per month that is why they enrolled their child in public schools. Is that it?
Leo Quiason
So then private Arabic lessons would be a more convenient option.
Iqra Malik
These type of biased and discriminating statements will create problems for the coming generations. Because Bahraini students also go out to study and will go further to do jobs outside in the years to come.
Rohitt Kapoor
Only expats with low wages would admit their children in government schools. If an expat can afford BD100 per month, he will send his children to a private school. Same reason why most Bahrainis are admitting their children in private schools.
