RIYADH: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, yesterday attended the qualifying race of the first edition of the Formula 1 STC Saudi Arabian Grand Prix 2021, at Jeddah Corniche Circuit.
HRH Prince Salman highlighted that the Middle East has become a global destination for international sporting events, such as Formula One races.
He extended his congratulations to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, on successfully establishing the first F1 race in Saudi Arabia.
HRH Prince Salman emphasised the importance of co-operation between Bahrain International Circuit and Jeddah Corniche Circuit in sharing knowledge and experience. He commended the contributions made by the Bahrain Motor Federation to the Saudi Arabian Motor Federation to organise the first Saudi Arabian F1.
The Crown Prince and Prime Minister wished Saudi Arabia success in hosting the first edition of the Grand Prix.
