A missing five-year-old autistic boy has been found safe and well near a park after a massive search for the child by the authorities and the community.
The child was found by police in the early hours of this morning scared and alone.
His frantic family had appealed for help to find missing Abdullah Ahmed.
It is believed he had wandered off from his home in East Riffa yesterday afternoon at around 1pm.
Scores of people rallied to the call and took to their cars to search the surrounding area and police were out in force.
"The boy was found in Riffa and in good health," said the Interior Ministry on Twitter early today.
"The National Ambulance and other concerned authorities have been brought to the scene to finalise procedures."
Sources told the GDN the boy was found near a public park in East Riffa around 12 hours after being reported missing and taken to the BDF Hospital for a check up.
Autism Spectrum Disorder includes a broad range of conditions characterised by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviours, speech and nonverbal communication.
