A SERIES of workshops to discuss medical blunders, and organised by the Public Prosecution, started yesterday.
The workshops aim to bolster effective and legal communication between prosecutors and National Health Regulatory Authority technical committees to address medical mistakes.
The first workshop was held in co-operation with the Judicial and Legal Studies Institute.
It was held under the patronage of Public Prosecutor Dr Ali bin Fadhl Al Buainain. “The workshops are being organised for ideas to be shared about medical errors,” the Public Prosecution said in a statement.
“Sharing the expertise will help in understanding the cases of criminal medical negligence.
“This will also make patients feel more comfortable and realise that authorities are following any issues related to the medical field.
“In addition, this helps in protecting the rights of patients and medics.”
