Kuwait’s Interior Ministry has warned travellers against carrying luggage, parcels, or containers belonging to third parties when entering or leaving the country.
The warning follows the arrest of three passengers in separate incidents after narcotics and psychotropic substances were found concealed inside medicine containers.
The travellers had carried the packages into Kuwait believing they contained legitimate medication for delivery to individuals in the country.
The ministry warned that drug traffickers frequently exploit travellers by concealing illicit substances in items handed over for transport.
Authorities stressed that passengers will face full legal accountability for any prohibited items found in their possession, regardless of their relationship to the sender or the reasons provided.
The suspects and seized narcotics have been referred to the relevant legal authorities for further investigation and prosecution.
