A blaze in an abandoned building in Gudaibiya, which reached several nearby properties, was extinguished by Civil Defence firefighters tonight.
No injuries were reported although residents nearby were evacuated as a precautionary measure.
Eight fire engines and 33 firefighters tackled the blaze.
The Public Prosecution was notified about the incident and an investigation into the cause was launched.
