COME to think of it, only the rich and privileged people get to express their opinion. What about us, the poor and low-income people? Who will hear our voices? Will our voice remain just a cry in the wilderness?
The article, ‘It’s the good life for expats’ (GDN, July 12), makes good reading but it does not reflect reality.
The salaries of most expats have not increased in about 17 years! The cost of living has gone up, prices of almost all commodities have risen but the salaries have remained stagnant. You are getting less for your money.
Expats don’t get any subsidies or hardship allowances, but they are still expected to eke out a living on meagre pay. Is that fair?
