MANAMA: Bahrain Bourse (BHB) has won two awards for exemplary performance in the area of enhancing sustainability and investment awareness.
BHB was named ‘Sustainable Stock Exchange of the Year - GCC 2022’ by Global Banking & Finance Review and ‘Best Investor Awareness Financial Literacy Initiatives – Stock Exchange – Bahrain 2022’ by International Finance.
Both publications are known for recognising international entities for their outstanding performance and are considered reliable indicators of excellence, which in turn reflects Bahrain Bourse’s efficiency and its efforts towards more sustainable practices in addition to its responsiveness to investors aspirations within the capital market.

BHB chief executive Shaikh Khalifa bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa said: “As a signatory to the Sustainable Stock Exchanges (SSE) initiative, our aim is to increase awareness of the importance sustainability-related disclosures to enhance capital flow. Exchanges have an important role to play in driving change and helping issuers to adapt sustainability and climate-related risk disclosures as part of their reporting practices, which in turn helps provide investors with transparent and comparable data. Hence, we have been working closely with a number of stakeholders with the aim of ensuring ESG resilience.”
