A LEGAL aide who forged and submitted false sick leave certificates to the paints company he was employed at was sentenced to three years in jail.
The 28-year-old Egyptian, who had already been convicted of forgery before, will be deported after finishing his term.
Although he is in custody, he refused to attend any of the trial’s hearings, stating that he ‘did not want to’.
The forgeries were submitted between 2019 and 2020.
Four witnesses had testified against the defendant, including a lawyer and a human resources employee from his company, a Health Ministry official and a doctor.
