A list of applications that gather user data for special purposes, issued by cloud storage company pCloud, revealed that Instagram and Facebook applications use 86 per cent of personal data collected from users.
The Uber and UberEats application came in second place (57pc), Ebay, Twitter, YouTube and LinkedIn in third place (50pc), and the Booking application in fourth place, along with Airbnb (43pc).
pCloud Ivan Dimitrov, senior digital marketing manager confirmed that the subscriber automatically agrees to the privacy policy of the application as soon as it is downloaded, so any information collected by an application upon registration can be analysed for its benefit and even shared with other parties.
The personal data collected includes purchases, location, accounts, content, search and browsing history, health and fitness information, and financial information, among others.
