The acclaimed Indian School Mega Fair has started on a high note at its Isa Town campus.
The annual event, being held once again after a three-year pandemic break, started with a grand finale of the school youth festival, Tarang, in which pupils from the Aryabhata House won the overall championship. Vikram Sarabhai House were runners-up and J.C Bose House secured third position.
Labour Ministry Assistant Under-Secretary for Labour Affairs Ahmed Al Hayki presented trophies to the winners in the presence of senior officials from the Education Ministry during a colourful ceremony.
Last night, the main attraction featured a musical performance by Indian singers Sachin Warrier, Vishnu Siva, Avani and Abdul Samad.
The event ends later today and will feature Bollywood singer Bhoomi Trivedi and team who will entertain the crowd at 6pm.
A food festival is also being held on the sidelines, with stalls offering a range of Indian cuisine.
Holders of entry tickets stand a chance to win grand prizes, including a Mitsubishi ASX, while the second prize winner will take home an MG5 car presented by Zayani Motors.
