LIVING in Bahrain for more than six years now and I am truly impressed by the urban planning and infrastructure, specifically when it comes to recreational activities for children.
You could always find all necessary shops, small markets, mosques, government schools and, most importantly, parks in almost every area.
Unfortunately, after moving to Saar area (near St Christopher’s School) I have been unable to locate any parks within walking distance to take children for play or cycle.
Even though lots of people in the area walk, and kids do cycle, it’s quite dangerous as there are a lot of drivers travelling at high speed, especially in the evening hours.
I would request the concerned authorities to look into this matter and, if possible, kindly allocate an area for a small park and a walking track since there is a huge space available in the area.
