The Shaikh of Enlightenment documentary bagged the best historical film award at the Mannheim Arts and Film Festival in Germany.
The Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Centre for Research and Culture has launched the movie to mark its 29th anniversary.
The film documents the activities and achievements of the Muharraq-based iconic centre, as well as its subsidiaries, since it was established two decades ago.
The movie has already won the Best Film Award in the Documentary Film Competition in the second edition of the Kuwait Film Festival.
The film was directed by Eva Daoud and supported by the Economic Development Board, Batelco, and the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company.
