In Bahrain, an inspiring initiative has flourished, fostering a culture of compassion and community spirit. A Box Forward, conceived through the joint efforts of Miro Dole and Lina Stahl, has swiftly gained recognition since its launch earlier this year.
Founded by Miro, originally from Sri Lanka, and Lina, a compassionate Swede, A Box Forward offers an accessible platform facilitating the simple yet profound act of sharing.
Bahraini residents can effortlessly offer or request used items, spanning from clothing to furniture, with each exchange driven by a singular goal: to breathe new life into these possessions and, in doing so, uplift those in need.
At the heart of this initiative lies a beautifully straightforward principle: within the group, everything is freely exchanged, nurturing a culture of altruism that has attracted more than 4,000 members within a remarkably short period.
As Miro expresses: “We wanted to inspire people in Bahrain to donate and recycle any used items and at the same time help struggling families and individuals that can’t afford to buy new items.
“If you have items you no longer need then please post them on our Facebook group and they will make someone’s day.”
A Box Forward emerged from Lina’s unwavering dedication to help others, seamlessly aligning with Miro’s vision. This collaboration stands as a testament to their steadfast commitment to nurturing a community founded on kindness and sustainability.

Lina’s commitment to giving back spans time, serving as a dedicated contributor to Miro’s previous yet ongoing charitable initiative, A Box of Goodness. It was established in 2016 on the noble principles of sharing blessings with the less fortunate. This unregistered charity now enters its seventh year, collaborating with esteemed institutions on annual projects without the exchange of financial assistance.
