Congratulations to the youth of the kingdom who enjoy infinite support, care, appreciation and trust of the wise leadership.
Today’s generation of young people play a pivotal role in achieving the nation’s comprehensive and sustainable development goals since they possess commendable capability, energy, knowledge, qualification and talent.
His Majesty King Hamad and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, have immense faith in the creativity and innovation of youth to build a brighter future for the kingdom.
The elderly generation was faithful and contributed sufficiently and now it is the turn of the youth to complete the national process of construction, development and modernisation.
On the occasion of Bahraini Youth Day, celebrated on March 25, His Majesty’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs and Supreme Council for Youth and Sport chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa gave an inspiring message to the nation’s youth, stressing the importance of developing skills and investing energy to achieve success and excellence.
We should be proud of our youth who excel in many fields, and have won global recognition in various fields and specialisations.
In the recent government formation, the wise leadership paid great and special attention to youth, and accordingly, for the first time, a special Youth Affairs Ministry was set up.
A young minister, Rawan Tawfiqi, was appointed to run the ministry and so far she has made exceptional efforts to achieve the desired goals based on the available capabilities.
In this regard, I was struck by Shaikh Nasser’s idea to institute the ‘Exceptional Youth’ initiative aimed at recognising outstanding young talent and fostering a competitive environment to achieve excellence.
I hope a ceremony is organised where all the winners of this award are honoured for excellence in their work. This acknowledgement will serve as an incentive for them to work hard and give more, whilst also motivating other young people to aspire for this honour in the future.
I am confident that the private sector, including institutions, banks and companies, will not hesitate to provide the necessary support and sponsorship for this ceremony whenever requested.
Motivation and appreciation, materially and morally, are considered the keys and secret to success in institutions, whether governmental or private, according to management and leadership theories.
There is no doubt that the government faces great challenges regarding the education, employment, training and qualification of Bahraini youth, especially in light of the scarcity of jobs and job opportunities, but it is working hard to resolve this crisis.
I have worked in the private sector for many years and am well aware of the importance of giving incentives to employees and their impact on work, creating a conducive environment capable of facing challenges, as well as creating loyalty, belonging and a culture of working with one team spirit. Unfortunately, many institutions do not believe in the importance of this aspect, and claim budget scarcity which places obstacles to increasing productivity and profitability.
