Gulf Aluminium Rolling Mill (Garmco) has hired 13 Bahrainis as part of the government’s On-the-Job Training Programme (Furas).
The programme, a collaboration between the Labour Ministry and the private sector, provides job seekers with practical experience in various fields.
Garmco has previously hired several batches of trainees under the Furas programme, including administrative and technical staff. The latest batch of 13 trainee engineers will undergo a year-long training programme before being evaluated and potentially hired.
The company aims to strengthen its national workforce and provide Bahraini youth with opportunities to develop skills in the industrial sector. Bahrainis currently occupy 80 per cent of Garmco’s workforce.
