More than 100 students attended a Bahraini-German symposium organised at the Applied Science University (ASU).
‘Utilising Talents in an Evolving Economy’ was organised by the German Saudi Arabian Liaison Office for Economic Affairs (GESALO) in co-operation with the ASU.
The attendees engaged in two interactive panel discussions with German industry leaders, which discussed integrating graduates into the workforce as well as the application of innovative German technology to the education sector.
The symposium was opened by ASU trustees board chairman and Bahrain Chamber of Commerce board member Waheeb Al Khaja as well as German Ambassador Clemens Hach.
GESALO delegate of the German Industry for Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Yemen Dr Dalia Samra-Rohte moderated the discussions with industry experts from Siemens, BASF, SAP and RMA Technologies.
The discussions gave the students an insight into the uses of Artificial Intelligence, soft skills for the job market, as well as recruitment processes.
Since the symposium coincided with Bahraini Women’s Day, female integration programmes of the industry as well as the achievements of women in the workforce were also highlighted.
