Bapco Energies group chief executive Mark Thomas has congratulated His Majesty King Hamad and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on National Day and the 25th anniversary of His Majesty’s accession to the throne.
Mr Thomas praised Bahrain’s pioneering achievements under the leadership of His Majesty.
He said the kingdom has become an exceptional model in the field of sustainable development.
“Bahrain has witnessed many achievements in the public sector, infrastructure and sustainability, through a number of ambitious development initiatives under the wise vision of His Majesty,” said Mr Thomas.
“It is also thanks to the support and patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman, that the kingdom now occupies a distinguished position in diversifying the economy and achieving sustainable development by enhancing non-oil sectors such as tourism, trade, financial and banking services, communications and technology, in addition to attracting foreign investments and providing a suitable work environment for entrepreneurship.
“National Day and the silver jubilee of His Majesty is a moment to recall the achievements made in urban development projects and effective economic policies that contribute to achieving Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.
“All this is possible due to the joint national efforts and harmony between the government and the people.”
Coinciding with the Silver Jubilee, Bapco Energies is set to launch a crucial phase of the Bapco Refinery Modernisation Project. It starts with launching the operations of a refinery that has a production capacity of up to 400,000 barrels per day.
The project will enhance Bahrain’s position as a leading country in the field of innovation in the energy sector as part of an operational plan that includes the introduction of larger quantities of crude oil into the Bapco refinery.
