The first group of Bahrainis stranded in Syria have returned home, the Foreign Ministry has announced.
The ministry last night said the evacuation was facilitated through comprehensive arrangements and measures to guarantee a smooth and secure process.
It expressed its appreciation for the tireless efforts and continuous co-ordination by Bahrain’s diplomatic missions in Syria and Jordan.
The ministry also highlighted the co-operation of Gulf Air and other parties involved in facilitating the citizens’ return, alongside the assistance provided by authorities in Syria and Jordan.
The Foreign ministry affirmed its commitment to continuing to monitor the situation and ensuring the safe return of all remaining Bahraini citizens in Syria.
It emphasised its commitment to protecting and supporting Bahraini citizens abroad.
The ministry noted that its teams and diplomatic missions in Damascus and Amman worked diligently to provide all necessary support and ensure the safe and smooth return of citizens.
