Bahrain yesterday welcomed the decision of the executive committee of the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) to appoint Hussein Al Sheikh as its deputy president and Deputy President of the State of Palestine.
A statement issued by the Foreign Ministry affirmed Bahrain’s steadfast support for the PLO, the legitimate representative of the Palestinian people, in its reform efforts to enhance institutional development, strengthen national unity and pursue the restoration of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
This includes the right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent State of Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the borders of June 4, 1967.
