A Uruguayan man just set a new Guinness World Record, and it's a real eye-popper.
Williams Martin Sanchez Lopez just set a new world record for the farthest eyeball pop (male).
The father of four was able to pop his eyeballs out 0.74 inches from his eye sockets, beating the previous record of 0.71 inches.
Williams achieves this freaky feat by relaxing the muscles around his eyes, which allows him to safely push his eyeballs out. The entire process is referred to as 'protrusion'.
According to Williams, he first realised that he had "inflating" eyeballs when he was 8 or 9 years old.
“It started when I was a kid,” he said. “I could basically move the upper and lower part of the muscles around my eyes, [and] over time I perfected my skill until at last I was able to move the eye completely out of its socket.”
Williams also says that he pulls out his party trick on unsuspecting people because he loves to see their reactions.
This unique ability has also garnered Williams a sizeable social media following, with netizens often requesting that he make videos of him popping his eyes out while yelling their name.
These videos regularly get hundreds of thousands of views.
