Bahrain is expected to experience some relief from intense heat in the coming days, with lower humidity levels expected during the night and early hours of the morning.
According to the Transportation and Telecommunications Ministry’s Meteorological Directorate, persisting humidity over the past few days was due to variable winds prevailing in the region.
Weather conditions are expected to improve from tomorrow as the kingdom enters the final weeks of summer.
“According to the latest updates from numerical models, the winds are expected to shift to a northwesterly direction starting Wednesday morning,” the directorate said in a statement.
“It will continue until the weekend, when wind speeds are expected to increase to moderate to brisk, occasionally reaching strong speeds.
“This will contribute to a decrease in humidity levels and a relative improvement in the weather, especially during the night and early morning.
“The Meteorological Directorate, therefore, urges the public, especially those at sea, to take precautions and follow official announcements and warnings issued through approved channels.”
Yesterday, the weather was described as hot, humid and partly cloudy at times. Temperatures peaked at 45C, cooling down to 30C at night, with humidity levels reaching almost 85 per cent.
This was a slight drop from Saturday, which saw similar temperature levels, but humidity of around 90pc. This high humidity persisted for about eight days straight.
The weather today is expected to be sunny, with temperatures ranging from 44C in the afternoon to 30C at night, with northerly winds reaching up to 15 knots.
Tomorrow, relief is expected despite similar temperatures between 31C and 44C, due to northerly winds reaching up to 20 knots.
Thursday is expected to be very windy, with temperatures hovering between 31C and 43C, but with stronger northwesterly winds reaching up to 25 knots.
Relief is expected to continue throughout the weekend. On Friday, temperatures are expected to reach 43C in the afternoon and 31C at night with northwesterly winds reaching up to 22 knots.
Finally, on Saturday, temperatures will range between 43C in the afternoon and 29C at night, as temperatures slowly begin to moderate towards the end of August, with northerly winds reaching up to 12 knots.
