FOOTBALL – Bahrain’s football fans can now scoop up their tickets for the 27th Gulf Cup, to be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia from September 23 to October 6.
The kingdom’s senior men’s football national team enter the eight-nation competition, also known as ‘Khaleeji 27’, as defending champions.
They will be playing in Group B alongside Qatar, the UAE, and Yemen. Group A features Iraq, Oman, Kuwait, and hosts Saudi.
The Gulf Football Federation (GFF), in collaboration with the tournament’s local organising committee, announced yesterday that tickets can be purchased on the official ticketing website the-gff.com/tickets and through the GFF Tickets app.
Fans can buy up to six tickets per match and follow their team from the group stage through to the knockout rounds.
All tickets are digital. Fans can download tickets to their digital wallet to gain entry to stadiums without the need for an internet connection.
Bahrain kick off their repeat title bid against Qatar in their opening Group B fixture on September 24, scheduled for a 9pm kick-off.
The Bahrainis will then face off with the UAE on September 27, also at 9pm, before completing the preliminaries against Yemen on September 30, kicking off at 8.30pm.

The three games will be played at Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Sports City Stadium.
The Bahrainis will be hoping to finish amongst their group’s top two to advance to the semi-finals, slated for October 3.
The final will then be held on October 6 at Jeddah’s King Abdullah Sports City Stadium.
