THE Bahrain Space Agency (BSA) is already integrating advanced security technologies, like cybersecurity, into its satellite projects, its chief executive Dr Mohammed Al Aseeri has said.
He cited the Al Munther satellite as an example of Bahraini innovation in this field.
Dr Al Aseeri participated in an international symposium on cybersecurity for the satellite industry, organised by the US company wolfSSL, a leading provider of space security solutions.
The virtual event explored cutting-edge technologies designed to protect space infrastructure from advanced cyber threats.
Dr Al Aseeri highlighted the importance of such platforms in addressing key challenges, including the protection of satellite communications, the adoption of quantum-resistant encryption to counter future risks and the need for robust systems to secure satellite launches and operations.
He affirmed Bahrain’s commitment to building secure space systems, stressing that cybersecurity is now a strategic requirement for space assets.
The BSA chief said that agency’s participation reflects the kingdom’s drive to strengthen the resilience of its space infrastructure, benefit from global expertise and expand partnerships with technology leaders.
It also reinforces Bahrain’s role as an emerging player in both space and cybersecurity at the regional level, he said.
WolfSSL, founded in 2004, has established itself as a global leader in space cybersecurity solutions, with a proven track record and a wide portfolio of technologies.
