The role played by Bahrain’s media in serving society, supporting national development and fostering unity has earned royal praise.
His Majesty King Hamad emphasised Bahraini journalism’s credibility, objectivity and professionalism in reporting events as well as defending the kingdom’s interests, security and stability.
The King congratulated Isa Al Shaiji on his re-election as chairman of the Bahrain Journalists’ Association (BJA).
He commended the confidence entrusted on him by the association’s members during its elections yesterday.
The re-election reflects Mr Al Shaiji’s long-standing experience, professionalism and contributions to the advancement of Bahraini journalism, the King said.
His Majesty also congratulated the newly-elected board members, wishing them success in achieving the association’s goals, upholding its mission in serving its members and developing the skills of journalists.
He expressed appreciation for the efforts of the association’s founders and former members, whose work has enriched the kingdom’s journalistic journey.
The King commended the significant achievements and milestones BJA has accomplished over the past 25 years since its establishment, attributing this success to the dedication of successive generations of distinguished journalists and media professionals.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, also congratulated Mr Al Shaiji and the new board members on their election.
He wished them success in strengthening the role of journalism as part of the kingdom’s development, led by His Majesty.
HRH Prince Salman expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the founders and members of the previous board in achieving their goals.
He commended the association’s achievements over the past 25 years since its establishment, thanks to the dedicated efforts of many prominent journalists and media professionals.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister praised the effective role played by journalists as a partner in national efforts and raising community awareness by disseminating purposeful messages that support development.
Information Affairs Minister Dr Ramzan Al Nuaimi, Parliament Speaker Ahmed Al Musallam and Shura Council Chairman Ali Saleh Al Saleh also congratulated Mr Al Shaiji and the new board members on their election.
