The British Club in Umm Al Hassam has always been a fantastic family spot, but its latest renovations have truly taken it to the next level. This weekend, my toddler and I had the most wonderful morning, starting with a refreshing splash and swim in the little pool with a few friends. As a member, it’s great to be able to sign in guests for a nominal fee.
The kids had a brilliant time splashing around and enjoying the cool water on a warm morning, whilst us mothers made use of the parasols and sunloungers.
A rock-climbing wall and other playground toys
After our swim, we got showered and changed, ready for the next part of our adventure: a slap-up English breakfast in the restaurant. There’s nothing quite like a proper fry-up to fuel a day of play! With our bellies full, we headed to the main event, the newly-updated play park.
Purple dinosaur
I was completely blown away by the upgrades. The entire area is now beautifully shaded, which is an absolute game-changer for keeping the little ones safe and cool. My toddler’s face lit up as she explored the new features, especially the purple dinosaur spring rider, which quickly became her favourite. She also loved the see-saw and the brilliant spiderweb swing, which is perfect for a group of kids. The slide and tunnel apparatus thankfully has remained as it continues to be a favoured option for my daughter.

For the older ones, there’s a new rock-climbing wall and child-friendly flooring for added safety.
The club has gone from strength-to-strength with its recent investments, and the updates to the play park are just the latest example. I also spotted that a new splash park is currently under construction, and I can’t wait to see the final result.
