PRIME Minister’s Court Minister and the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) board of directors chairman Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa has said that citizens continue to be central to the kingdom’s national development plans, in line with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Shaikh Isa was speaking as he chaired Tamkeen’s third quarterly board of directors meeting yesterday.
He also emphasised the vital role of the kingdom’s national workforce in bolstering economic development, noting the wide-ranging capabilities of Bahrainis in driving efficient growth across sectors. He highlighted this as a key driver of economic growth for Bahrain.
Shaikh Isa also directed the development of Tamkeen’s 2026-2030 strategy, in alignment with Bahrain’s vision for economic growth and sustainable development. The strategy will reinforce Tamkeen’s core objectives of continuing to develop national talent to become the first choice for employment in the labour market, while also supporting the growth of private sector enterprises as the main driver of the national economy.
The board further reviewed Tamkeen’s key recent achievements and received a briefing on Tamkeen’s progress against their three main pillars: Supporting job seekers entering the labour market, facilitating their career development, and providing enterprise support.
During the meeting, Tamkeen chief executive Maha Mofeez presented an overview of Tamkeen’s achievements during the first three quarters of the year. This included support for over 14,100 Bahrainis entering the labour market, more than 17,800 Bahrainis benefiting from training and career development initiatives, and assistance extended to over 5,900 enterprises across various sectors to foster growth, drive digital transformation, and enhance productivity.
During the last quarter, Tamkeen launched the Digital Enablement Programme, aimed at supporting enterprises in advancing their operations through the adoption of digital tools and solutions, enhancing efficiency and productivity.
The programme offers two distinct tracks for enterprises to benefit from innovative digital solutions. Under the first track, businesses can access a variety of tailored digital tools provided by accredited service providers, which offer solutions that boost productivity and address specific business needs. The second track provides enterprises with the flexibility to select a service provider of their choice to implement digital solutions tailored to their operational requirements.
This year marks the conclusion of Tamkeen’s 2022–2025 strategic cycle, which has focused on empowering Bahraini talent in the private sector, enabling career development through skills enhancement, accelerating enterprise growth, and digital transformation to boost labour market effectiveness and private sector performance. These efforts are aligned with the national goal of driving sustainable economic growth in Bahrain.
