A pioneering data-driven career guidance platform dedicated to secondary school students was officially launched yesterday, marking a significant milestone in aligning Bahraini youth with the evolving demands of the kingdom’s workforce.
‘Career World,’ the first specialised platform of its kind in Bahrain, is an initiative by Skills Bahrain under the umbrella of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen).
It was unveiled during a high-profile event at Bahrain Chamber’s Bait Al Tijjar building, in the presence of ministers, senior officials, students as well as representatives from both the public and private sectors.
Developed in close co-operation with the Education Ministry and the Higher Education Council, the platform leverages advanced data powered by the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) to provide students, parents and career counsellors with reliable, real-time labour market insights.
The platform features comprehensive, continuously updated data on more than 160 professions, effectively bridging the gap between academics and employment needs.
It maps out related academic specialisations alongside required skill sets and provides critical transparency regarding average salary ranges for various career paths.

Furthermore, users can access information on the size of the workforce and growth potential across key economic sectors, backed by simplified descriptions of core professional responsibilities.
To enhance engagement among youth, Career World incorporates interactive multimedia content, including introductory videos about various professions and real-world career experiences to offer an immersive learning journey.
Tamkeen chief executive officer Maha Mofeez affirmed that the initiative reflects a steadfast commitment to developing national talent and boosting workforce readiness.
“The Career World platform is a pioneering initiative built on real labour market data, helping students and youth make more informed educational and career decisions,” Ms Mofeez said.
“By linking their skills with the needs of the labour market and economic sectors, the platform contributes to building a generation that is more prepared and competitive in the workforce.”
The platform aligns with Tamkeen’s 2026 strategic priorities, which focus on maximising economic impact for Bahrainis, shaping career pathways and driving private sector growth through innovation and robust governance. It follows the earlier successful rollout of the Employability Skills Portal, which focuses on broader market analysis and job creation.
Speaking to the GDN on the sidelines of the launch, Education Minister Dr Mohammed Mubarak Juma hailed the dashboard as an indispensable tool for high school students navigating their future.
“This platform serves as a vital reference for students, particularly those graduating from high school, by addressing the significant demand for academic, skill-based and career counselling,” Dr Juma said.
“By bringing together comprehensive information on available careers and the specific skills required in today’s labour market, the dashboard presents crucial data to students in a very simple, accessible format.”
The minister revealed that active steps are already underway to ensure the platform becomes a staple of the daily school environment.
“Moving forward, we will collaborate with Tamkeen to train teachers, as well as academic and professional counsellors, within schools. Our goal is to seamlessly integrate this dashboard so that students become completely familiar with the platform and can access it with ease,” Dr Juma added.
“While we are delighted to officially launch the dashboard today, its development will remain an ongoing process.”
The launch event was also attended by Labour and Legal Affairs Minister Yousif Khalaf, Youth Affairs Minister Rawan Tawfiqi and members of the Tamkeen board.
