ASIAN GAMES – THE Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) is participating in the first Chefs de Mission meeting for the 20th Asian Games, to be held next year in Aichi and Nagoya in Japan.
BOC operations executive director Ahmed Abdulghaffar and BOC Arab and international relations specialist Hasan Juma are both in Nagoya for the four-day gathering, which got underway yesterday.
The event has gathered top sports officials from across Asia, and it also featured the official one-year countdown ceremony held by the Games organisers, AINAGOC.
Around 15,000 athletes and officials from all 45 Asian National Olympic Committees are set to take part in the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games next year.
