YUSUF bin Ahmed Kanoo Group board chairman Fawzi Ahmed Kanoo expressed his and the Kanoo family’s appreciation for His Majesty King Hamad’s support for the Kanoo Family Museum project, commending its inauguration by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, as a distinct landmark in the historical zone of Manama.
“We, in the company, believe that the secret of our success spanning more than 135 years lies in our commitment to the family fundamentals and inherent values that are based on integrity, transparency and the spirit of team work,” he told our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej.
“For us, taking and handing over the leadership occurs according to a clear vision and method that safeguard continuity and development. We are keen to gradually engage new generations after grooming them and acquiring the needed experience to maintain the group’s march and develop it to cope with changes,” he added.
“Our vision for the group is based on sustainable growth, smart expansion while boosting institutional governance and adopting the best global practices. My advice to the family firms is to adopt clear institutional structures and chart plans to attract competencies and groom new generations,” he noted.
Mr Fawzi Kanoo underlined Bahrain’s attractive business environment thanks to advanced legislation and the government’s steadfast support to the private sector.
“This encourages us to increase our investments and expand the scope of our business in a way that serves Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030. Bahrain is witnessing development in various economic sectors and possesses distinguished privileges in this respect in terms of the availability of qualified national competencies and the facilities provided by the government for investors,” he affirmed.
“Bahrainisation for us is not simply a legislative commitment but a national responsibility. We have integrated programmes to employ and rehabilitate the Bahraini competencies and enable them to take up leading positions in the group. We consider investment in the Bahraini citizen a strategic investment for the future,” Mr Kanoo said.
