BAHRAIN Bourse (BHB) has been crowned the ‘Best Exchange for Financial Literacy in the Middle East’ at the Euromoney Capital Markets Awards 2025.
This win reinforces BHB’s position as a regional leader in investor education and highlights its deep commitment to its environmental, social and governance (ESG) framework, aligning directly with the UN’s SDG Goal 4.
The award underscores BHB’s active, high-quality efforts to promote financial awareness across all community segments. These impactful initiatives include the experiential learning programme TradeQuest, which successfully completed its 26th edition engaging 20 school teams and seven universities; the Smart Investor programme, which in partnership with Injaz Bahrain reached 106 public and private schools in its sixth edition; and The Investment Academy, a collaboration with the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) that provided professional courses and webinars to over 360 individuals in 2024.
Furthermore, BHB is building a financially informed leadership pipeline through the second cohort of its BHB Board Mentorship Programme with BIBF, designed to prepare board-ready candidates. Collectively, these strategic programmes and partnerships, which also include participating in the World Federation of Exchanges’ annual ‘Ring the Bell’ campaign and the regional ‘Mulim’ awareness drive, reached over 10,000 participants last year, fostering a vital culture of responsible investing and financial empowerment in the kingdom.
Emphasising the significance of the award, Bahrain Bourse chief executive Shaikh Khalifa bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa said: “We are deeply honoured by this recognition. At Bahrain Bourse, we believe financial literacy is foundational to the ESG framework, as it empowers informed decision-making and promotes inclusive participation. This award reaffirms our continued commitment to championing these vital initiatives in the kingdom.”
