A teacher in the US faced public outcry after she fed an ailing kitten to a snake kept in the classroom.
Parents reported the Animal Science teacher from North Texas to school district officials after she admitted to students that she fed the snake a sick kitten at the start of their school day.
The Alvord High School teacher gave three other kittens to a student who was distraught about the incident. Those kittens died shortly after the student took them home, according to her mother and school officials.
Alvord ISD Superintendent Randy Brown said in a statement on Friday: ‘The teacher, an experienced educator and animal lover, has apologised to the students for her actions and voluntarily removed all snakes from her classroom.’
No legal action will be taken against the educator; the issue will be resolved by school officials.
