Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa headed Bahrain’s delegation to the 124th meeting of the Financial and Economic Co-operation Committee of the GCC countries in Kuwait, with the participation of GCC finance ministers secretary general Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi.
The meeting was part of the joint efforts to enhance economic integration among GCC states and to support initiatives aimed at achieving sustainable growth, thereby advancing the global economic standing of the region.
The ministers reviewed the latest developments regarding the GCC’s free trade negotiations with other countries and economic blocs, in addition to updates on the programme to achieve economic unity among GCC states.
Shaikh Salman also attended the joint meeting of the ministers of finance and central banks governors with International Monetary Fund anaging director Kristalina Georgieva, which discussed regional and global economic and financial developments. Central Bank of Bahrain Governor Khalid Humaidan also attended.
