His Majesty King Hamad has issued a Royal Order calling upon the National Assembly, Parliament and the Shura Council to convene for the opening of the fourth session of the sixth legislative term on October 12.
The opening ceremony at the Isa Cultural Centre will be followed by the first sessions of the term for both the Shura Council and Parliament, at the National Assembly Complex in Gudaibiya.
The Shura Council will hold elections for the positions of first and second vice-chairperson.
So far, only the current first vice-chairman Jamal Fakhro and second vice-chairperson Dr Jihad Al Fadhel have submitted their names to Chairman Ali Saleh Al Saleh.
This will be followed by Parliament’s session, during which all laws issued by His Majesty through Royal Decrees during the recess will be debated.
