If you are the kind of person who loves all things ghoulish and scary, then this competition in Vegas might be the perfect weekend getaway for you!
Just in time for Halloween, the El Cortez Hotel in Vegas is looking for one brave individual to hunt down the ghosts at the hotel.
The El Cortez, the oldest and often called the "most haunted" hotel in Vegas, is running a competition with a prize of $5,000.
Those interested can apply to be the ghost hunter who gets to stay at the El Cortez over a weekend, exploring all of the hotel's oldest and eeriest corners in search of actual ghosts.
“We’re sending you to investigate, fully equipped with ghost-hunting gear, to see if the stories are true!” the contest listing read.
“The chosen ghost hunter will check in to the El Cortez for a haunted weekend stay, where you’ll explore the casino’s oldest and eeriest corners, searching for signs of ghostly activity.”
The chosen ghost hunter will be tasked with walking through the hotel’s corridors, grounds, and any other areas that are thought to be haunted. They will be armed with ghost-hunting equipment such as Electromagnetic Field (EMF) metres, Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP) sensors, and thermal sensors.
If they do find anything mysterious or spooky, the ghost hunter is expected to take photos and videos as evidence and to write a brief report of the findings.
The selection process is being held from October 6 to 31, and the trip is expected to take place in early December.
