THE long-standing and enduring partnership between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia is underpinned by a shared history of co-operation and deep-rooted ties, it has been declared.
The continued growth of these relations was under the spotlight yesterday as His Majesty King Hamad and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, separately met Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.
The minister is on a visit to Bahrain to take part in the executive committee meeting of the Bahraini-Saudi Co-ordination Council, which also took place yesterday.
During his meeting at Sakhir Palace, the King highlighted the importance of such visits in enhancing consultation amid regional challenges.
He commended the efforts of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to deepen ties and the leading role of Saudi Arabia in supporting Gulf and Arab joint action as well as promoting unity among nations.
The meeting reviewed a number of regional and international developments, particularly in the Middle East.
HRH Prince Salman noted that the close partnership continues to grow under the guidance and support of His Majesty and King Salman.
During his meeting with Prince Faisal at Gudaibiya Palace, HRH Prince Salman expressed his appreciation for the continued support of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in advancing bilateral co-operation in line with mutual aspirations.
He emphasised the importance of Prince Mohammed’s unwavering support for various initiatives and projects spearheaded by the co-ordination council. He underscored the role of the council in strengthening multi-sectoral collaboration.
This collaboration, particularly in economic sectors, creates new opportunities that contribute to both kingdoms achieving their joint aspirations, HRH Prince Salman said.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister emphasised the critical role of Saudi Arabia in strengthening bilateral co-operation, promoting regional security and development, and safeguarding Arab and Islamic interests.
Prime Minister’s Court Minister Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, along with several senior officials, also attended the meeting.
