The chief minister of an Indian state is set to visit Bahrain for an exclusive event that will be held on Friday.
Keralites Meet, a landmark gathering, will be jointly hosted by the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam (BKS), Loka Kerala Sabha and Malayalam Mission, at the BKS DJ Hall from 6.30pm onwards.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will address members from the community at the event. An organising committee comprising 501 members and chaired by BKS president Radhakrishna Pillai has been formed to oversee preparations for the visit, Mr Viyayan’s second since 2017, also hosted by the BKS.
Several prominent figures from the Malayali community in Bahrain, across cultural, social, religious and political spheres, participated in the committee formation meeting.

Indian Ambassador Vinod Jacob, Kerala’s Culture Minister Saji Cherian, renowned business leader MA Yousufali and IAS officer Dr A Jayathilak will be present at the gathering which is expected to attract a large turnout, the organisers said.
Other local dignitaries and representatives from cultural organisations and professional groups will also attend.
The programme will feature cultural performances showcasing Kerala’s rich heritage.
Mr Pillai said that he is upbeat about the visit as there are a lot of expectations that Mr Vijayan will announce new favourable measures for Indian expatriates, noting that during his tenure, he has prioritised the welfare of Keralite expats through initiatives such as NORKA, Loka Kerala Sabha, Malayalam Mission and NORKA Pravasi Insurance.
The upcoming visit is part of Mr Vijayan’s broader Gulf tour, aimed at strengthening ties with the Keralite diaspora and enhancing engagement with expatriate communities.
