The board of directors of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), chaired by Legal Affairs Minister and Acting Labour Minister Yousif bin Abdulhussein Khalaf, held its regular meeting in the presence of board members and LMRA CEO Nibras Talib.
The board reviewed LMRA’s projects for 2025-2026 aimed at developing the labour market environment, enhancing customer services, and strengthening oversight in line with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030, the Government Plan, and the National Labour Market Plan 2023–2026.
The meeting reviewed plans to update labour market policies and supporting procedures to meet sector needs and keep pace with economic changes. It also discussed efforts to improve operational efficiency, simplify processes, and enhance integration across government systems to support service quality, competitiveness, and investment appeal.
The board was briefed on key development projects, including progress in implementing the Wage Protection System and aligning all financial and banking institutions with its requirements. It emphasised the system’s importance in protecting the rights of employers and workers and promoting a fair and secure work environment.
At the end of the meeting, the board urged employers to comply with electronic salary payment and take advantage of the system’s benefits in supporting stable labour relations.
