Police are investigating the death of a young woman whose body was found inside a refrigerator after her landlord reported a foul odour coming from her apartment.
Authorities have named the victim’s partner as a person of interest, while her father believes money may have been the motive for the killing.
Colonel Allen Rae Co, spokesman for the Philippine National Police, said "the person of interest has an arrest warrant for serious illegal detention", adding that "the woman allegedly had money, according to the father, so most likely they fought over the money or something".
The victim was discovered with visible strangulation marks, and an autopsy estimated she had been dead for six to seven days before the landlord reported the stench.
Investigators believe the suspect placed the body in the refrigerator to delay decomposition.
Investigations are ongoing.
