Public Security Chief and National Committee for Civil Emergency Management chairman Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan yesterday said Bahrain’s selection to chair the Arab Co-ordination Mechanism for Disaster Risk Reduction and to serve as Vice Chair of the Arab Technical Committee for Marine Disaster Reduction represents a significant achievement for the kingdom.
He said the decision reflects Bahrain’s leading role in the Arab civil protection system and its contribution to joint efforts in disaster risk reduction .
