TABLE TENNIS – Bahrain Club were crowned women’s champions in the West Asia Table Tennis Club Championships 2025, held at Isa Bin Rashid Table Tennis Hall at Isa Sports City in Riffa.
Bahrain Club won their title following a well-deserved 3-1 victory over Kuwait’s Al Fatat Club in the final.
Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) vice-president Shaikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa attended the awarding and closing ceremony of the tournament, which was held under the patronage of Supreme Council for Youth and Sport first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman and BOC president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Also on hand was BOC board member and Bahrain Table Tennis Association president Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa.
Shaikh Isa awarded Bahrain Club and Fatat as well as the Saudi Federation Club, who captured the men’s title after their 3-1 win over Qatar Sports Club in their final.
Shaikh Isa praised the achievement of Bahrain Club’s women’s team, commending the high level of performance they displayed on their way to securing their crown.
Shaikh Isa expressed his delight with the impressive standards demonstrated by all participating teams, noting that the championship provided an important platform for West Asian clubs to strengthen their regional presence and competitiveness.
“We are pleased to witness the remarkable progress of table tennis in the West Asian region, which reflects the substantial efforts made by clubs and federations to support players and raise their technical capabilities,” Shaikh Isa added.
“The participating clubs showcased exemplary sportsmanship and competitive spirit. We congratulate the champions on their well-deserved success and wish the remaining teams the very best in their future engagements.”
