Bahrain is expected to experience rainfall, accompanied by thunder and gusts of up to 30 knots, until Thursday evening.
According to the Transportation and Telecommunications Ministry, the showers, which started over the weekend, moved eastward from Saudi Arabia.
Yesterday, temperatures ranged between 18C and 23C, with humidity reaching 95pc and northeasterly winds peaking at 18 knots at times.
Today, rain and thunder are expected to continue, with a maximum temperature of 21C, variable winds and gusts of up to 30 knots.
The General Directorate of Traffic urged motorists to exercise caution – drive properly, remain in the correct lane, adhere to speed limits, and maintain a safe distance between vehicles.
The ministry reported that low-pressure systems will persist until Thursday evening, bringing rainfall of varying intensity and thunder.
Over the weekend, temperatures are expected to fall further due to strong northwesterly winds and a cold wave, ranging between 13C and 18C on Friday, and 12C to 17C on Saturday.
A fireworks show has been scheduled for today at the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir as part of National Day celebrations, and the anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad’s accession to the throne.
It is unclear whether the event will go on as planned if the rains persist.
