His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, yesterday chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting at Gudaibiya Palace.
The Cabinet highlighted the sacrifices made by fallen servicemen to safeguard the kingdom’s sovereignty and ensure its security, affirming that their heroic efforts remain a lasting source of pride for the nation.
It also noted its commitment to the children and families of fallen servicemen through the Royal Fund for Fallen Servicemen, in recognition of their duty and sacrifices.
The Cabinet marked Bahrain Police Day, commending the efforts of Bahrain’s police force and the Interior Ministry’s personnel in maintaining security and public safety across the kingdom.
HRH Prince Salman conveyed the gratitude of His Majesty King Hamad to all the organisers, participants and sponsors of the Celebrate Bahrain events, noting His Majesty’s emphasis on the importance of these celebrations, given their widespread public engagement and their role in reflecting national patriotism, strengthening social cohesion, and preserving the authentic customs and traditions of Bahrain.
The Cabinet expressed its appreciation to former Labour Minister Jameel Humaidan for his dedicated service throughout his distinguished career in the public sector.
It extended best wishes to Yousif Khalaf, following the issuance of the royal decree appointing him as Labour Minister and Legal Affairs Minister.
The Cabinet affirmed the success of the 8th annual Bahrain Animal and Agriculture Production Show (Mara’ee 2025), highlighting its contribution to strengthening the kingdom’s efforts to enhance food security, preserve wildlife, and promote agricultural and livestock production.
It also extended its congratulations to the graduates of the Prime Minister’s Fellowship Programme, on the 10th anniversary, highlighting the outcomes achieved by the programme throughout its 10-year journey, and thanked all those responsible for the initiative.
The Cabinet extended its gratitude to the government agencies that contributed to the accreditation of the kingdom’s four governorates as ‘Healthy Governorates’ by the World Health Organisation (WHO) under the WHO Healthy Cities Initiative, affirming the importance of continuing to advance Bahrain’s health system in line with international standards.
The Cabinet reviewed several memorandums submitted by ministerial committees and ministers, and approved the following:
1. A draft resolution regulating procedures for remote litigation.
2. Two draft resolutions regulating mechanisms for the immediate execution of cheques marked as having insufficient funds, aimed at ensuring the prompt fulfilment of rights and reinforcing confidence in cheques as a key payment instrument with effective executive authority.
3. A draft resolution exempting institutions, companies and banks that maintain accounts electronically from the requirement to keep paper commercial books.
4. The government’s response to several proposals submitted by Parliament.
The Cabinet also reviewed the latest developments related to the Education Ministry’s priorities within the Government Programme (2023-2026).
The Cabinet noted the following ministerial reports:
1. The outcomes of the 115th Ministerial Council meeting of the Organisation of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries.
2. Bahrain’s participation in the International Forum for Peace and Trust in Turkmenistan, International Day of Neutrality and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s declaration of permanent neutrality.
3. Bahrain’s participation in the 6th Arab Ministerial Forum on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development 2025.
4. Bahrain’s hosting of the World Travel Awards Grand Final 2025.
5. The outcomes of Bahrain’s participation in the 28th session of the Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism and the 36th meeting of its Executive Office.
6. The outcomes of Bahrain’s participation in the Bridge Summit 2025.
