GULF WEEKLY -
The second season of the animated sitcom The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball is out now on Hulu.
Taking place in the fictional city of Elmore, the series follows the misadventures of a blue mischievous 12-year-old cat Gumball Watterson (Alkaio Thiele) with his 10-year-old adopted goldfish brother Darwin (Hero Hunter).
Premiered earlier this year, the 2025 show acts as a revival of the Cartoon Network series The Amazing World of Gumball, which aired from 2011 to 2019.
The new season is expected to address the ambiguous ending of the original series, in which the town faced potential calamity, as the show’s biggest villain, Rob, is seen in the trailer emerging from The Void.
In an interview, executive producers Ben Bocquelet and Erik Fountain expressed their relief with the revival’s success.
“It’s nice that we are welcome back in people’s living room that way, we’re just glad that they didn’t hate it,” Ben said.
“I was nervous for years as we made this batch because animation is a very tedious process, so I had a lot of time to cry myself to sleep and just be nervous about the reception. It was great that it was so warmly received,” Erik added.
