St Christopher’s School Bahrain recently celebrated the academic achievements of its students at the annual Outstanding Academic Achievement Awards Evening held at the Senior School.
The ceremony recognised both the breadth of success across the student body and a number of truly exceptional national and global results from the 2024-2025 examination cycle, covering GCSE, A Level and IB qualifications.
The event was attended by parents, staff, alumni and members of the board of governors, alongside distinguished guests including British Ambassador Alastair Long and senior representatives from OxfordAQA and Pearson Edexcel.
While the evening celebrated collective success, several students were honoured for achieving the highest marks possible, placing them among the very top performers globally.
Pietta Watley achieved the highest mark in the world in GCSE Mathematics A, while Aryan Gupta secured the highest mark in the world in AS Economics, Hriday Kansal earned the highest marks in the world in both AS Economics and AS Mathematics and Mayssa Salame achieved the highest marks in the world in AS Chemistry, AS Physics and AS Mathematics.
The school also recognised a talented group of students whose results ranked first in Bahrain for their respective subjects.
Sara Al Arayedh earned the highest mark in Bahrain in IGCSE Business, Zayd Khan in GCSE Physical Education and Nitya Pancholi in both IGCSE Economics and IGCSE Further Pure Mathematics. Further top national marks were achieved by Mia Sum in A Level Biology, Kiera Thomas in International A Level Psychology, Noah Hearn in A Level History, Zayn Siddiqi in AS Psychology and Nick Troger in IGCSE German.
Additionally, Ms Watley achieved the highest marks in Bahrain in GCSE Drama, GCSE History and IGCSE Religious Studies.
Beyond these individual accolades, the school celebrated the high standards achieved by the wider student body, with more than 90 students recognised for achieving five or more A or A* grades at GCSE.
Awards were also presented to high-performing A Level students achieving three or more A/A* grades and IB students scoring 36 points or above.
“This evening is a celebration not only of exceptional results, but of the culture that makes those results possible,” said St Christopher’s principal Dr Simon Watson.
“We are incredibly proud of the students who have achieved top marks in Bahrain and globally, but we are equally proud of the many students whose consistency, determination and ambition have led to outstanding outcomes across GCSE, A Level and IB pathways.
“Importantly, we are proud of every student who strives to do their best, whether or not they are receiving an award this evening. At St Chris, students are challenged, supported and encouraged to aim high, and evenings like this reflect the strength of a community that believes deeply in academic excellence, opportunity and personal growth,” he added.
The event also welcomed back alumni from the Class of 2025, with several returning from their overseas studies to be recognised for their achievements.
