BAHRAIN-BASED karting team NorthStar Racing prodigy Luca Saruhan yesterday met with Luke Littler at the Gulf Hotel in Manama, writes Nader Adnan.
The dynamic duo’s careers are taking similar paths, albeit in different sports, with 13-year-old Luca considered to be one of the most promising youngsters in motorsport today.
During the meeting, Luca stated that he saw 18-year-old Littler as an inspiration, and told the reigning back-to-back darts world champion of his own intentions in his career.
“I want to be a professional athlete just like him,” Luca told the GDN. “I want to one day reach the heights that he has managed to achieve ... but on the track!
“As a karting driver, I want to get better and get more experience with each race, and I want to one day become a world champion. Eventually, I also would like to move up to the F1 category.”
Lucky Luca, wearing his Nadeen International School uniform, was with a broadcasting party from Radio Bahrain.
