RUGBY – Renowned rugby professional Sean McNulty will be lacing it up with Bahrain’s First XV today when they take on the Abu Dhabi Harlequins First XV in the 2025-26 Men’s West Asia Premiership.
The game is scheduled for a 5pm start, Bahrain time, and it will be played at the UAE capital. It will be broadcast live on Bahrain Rugby Club’s (BRC) YouTube channel.
McNulty is currently a member of the Seattle Seawolves – a professional rugby union team in Major League Rugby in the US.
He began playing the sport in his youth while living in the kingdom with his family.
McNulty was announced by BRC yesterday as part of the First XV’s squad list for this evening’s clash.
The rest of the team’s roster includes David Ofori-Manteaw, Mackenzie Oliver, Andries de Kock, Aled Morris, Tian Jacobs, Rhys Fitzgerald, Alastair Crombie, Sesona Macala, Romeo Eksteen, Cormac Fox, Josh Petro, James Newey, Greg Heath, Gregor Smith, Jack Hocking, Lindsey Gibson, Matthew McKee, Nick Young, Charlie Farmer, Kenta Kutsuna, David Evans, and Joel Kidgell.
The kingdom’s representatives have won all seven of their fixtures so far this season and are coming off a resounding victory last weekend over the Dubai Sharks First XV at home.
The Harlequins First XV head into today’s match currently second on the table, right behind Bahrain, with four wins from seven games.
Meanwhile, Bahrain’s Second XV also take to the pitch today in the UAE capital in 2025-26 UAE Division One action.
They will be facing the Abu Dhabi Harlequins’ Second XV, also scheduled for a 5pm start, Bahrain time.
The kingdom’s Second XV have won two of their three games so far. They registered a big victory over the Sharks’ Second XV at home last weekend and will be looking to maintain their winning ways.
The Second XV’s squad was announced yesterday by BRC. The line-up features Cameron Thomson, Martin Prinsloo, Oli Sanson, Luan Steyne, Muhaimin Nafie, Stan Mortenson, Cooper Comrie, Dylan Vermeulen, Josh de Beer, Sam Withers, Stewart Heunis, Joseph Rizzardi, Dan Dryden, Thibaut Pourcel, Deina Morete, Brandon Bourgeois, Alexis Pavier, Cobus Grierson, Juan Coetsee, Will Trodd, and Ajani Stokes.
