Survey and Land Registration Bureau (SLRB) president Bassem Al Hamer received the eleventh intake of the Prime Minister’s Fellowship Programme.
Mr Al Hamer highlighted the role of the programme in preparing national competencies and enriching their experience through exposure to different government practices.
This enhances their readiness to contribute to government development and Bahrain’s comprehensive development under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He outlined the bureau’s role in regulating and developing survey and land registration activities and managing real estate, survey and geospatial data.
He also highlighted the importance of such data in supporting government services and projects and facilitating the integration of information among relevant entities to improve government procedures and services.
The participants were briefed on the history of survey and land registration in Bahrain, which spans more than 100 years, and the development of the bureau’s work over the decades.
They also learned about the development of the title deed, including changes to its format and content, data storage and document issuance, culminating in the electronic title deed and its role in modernising the issuance, storage and accessibility of title deed data.
They were also briefed on the bureau’s key projects and initiatives, and the technologies, systems and applications used in survey, land registration and geospatial data, as well as their role in supporting digital transformation, streamlining procedures, and improving data accuracy, reliability and the quality of government services and outputs.
Mr Al Hamer emphasised the importance of enabling government cadres to learn about the experiences and areas of specialisation of different entities, enhancing their understanding of government work and their ability to link sectors and services.
He affirmed that continued development of government performance requires teamwork, the exchange of expertise and knowledge among entities, and promoting creativity, excellence and responsibility in serving the kingdom and achieving its aspirations.
The fellowship beneficiaries noted that the visit enriched their knowledge of the survey and land registration sector, its development, and the role of modern data and technologies in supporting government services in Bahrain.
